HESTON'S AWARD ACCEPTANCE & REVEAL
OBSERVER FOOD MONTHLY AWARDS
For the tenth anniversary of the Observer Food Monthly Awards, we created the world's first edible trophy. The 'award' was designed by us with Heston Blumenthal, to look like the standard Observer 'plate trophy'.
On the night, Heston also won an award. In his acceptance speech he revealed to an unsuspecting audience, that the trophies were actually edible, by taking a bite out of his own award. They tasted a bit like a Dime Bar, but in the form of a big gold plate. YUM.
